About Jacqueline

Jacqueline Michelle is an Australian-born singer-songwriter, yoga teacher, actress/model, whose life journey has been shaped by devotion, transformation, and creative expression. Born in Melbourne and raised in the beachside town of Mona Vale, just north of Sydney, Jacqueline began modeling at the age of 12. After graduating high school, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting and modeling.

In 2003, a single yoga class changed the trajectory of her life—introducing her to both the path of Bhakti Yoga and to her beloved, Govind Das (Ira Rosen). The two were married in 2005 on the island of Maui.

While Jacqueline’s career in entertainment was thriving, she began to face inner challenges around self-worth and body image. Choosing to step back from the industry, she devoted herself to deep healing, traveling to India, immersing in yogic studies, and ultimately becoming a teacher herself.

In 2009, Jacqueline and Govind Das founded Bhakti Yoga Shala in Santa Monica, which quickly became a vibrant spiritual hub in Southern California. For over a decade, they offered classes, kirtans, and community gatherings rooted in love and devotion. In response to the global pandemic, they transitioned the studio to an online format to continue supporting seekers worldwide. Today, they lead weekly offerings in Topanga Canyon and host retreats around the world.

As a musician, Jacqueline has released five mantra albums since 2005, sharing music that weaves together devotion, presence, and heart-opening soundscapes. In 2017, she released her original EP Sun Child, a six-song collaboration with Kai Brown, produced by Grammy-winner Jeff Trott. In 2021, she followed with Live from the Shala, a collection of mantra music created to accompany the flow of a yoga class. That same year, she was also featured on the Ram Dass Soul Land Music Series album.

In 2024, Jacqueline collaborated with MONROE on Lotus and co-created Weaving a New Dream with MONROE and Heather Christie. In 2025, she released I Am Woman and Beloved, with more music on the way—crafted with the intention to uplift and inspire.

Her music will also be featured in Love Wild, an unconventional biopic about Mary Pickford,
directed by Jennifer DeLia, scheduled for release in 2025.

After losing their home in the Pacific Palisades fires, Jacqueline and her family set out on a journey
around the world. Together, they are traveling, creating, and sharing music
offering songs and practices rooted in love, resilience, and connection wherever they go.
